Our Ministries

PeeWee Club

Our Pee Wee Club is led by Mrs. Angie Vinez, Miss Ashley Vinez, and Miss Sabrina Shangle. They work each Wednesday night with ages 4-7 teaching them the importance of following Christ.

Patch Club

Our Patch Club is for ages 8-12 and is led by our Assistant Pastor, Kevin Carr and his wife Kristie. In Patch club, they are teaching our kids how to have a daily devotional time with Jesus in God’s Word. The kids also are learning spiritual songs and hearing a weekly lesson that is centered on a particular Bible theme.

Youth Legacy

Our teen group is led by Brother Donnie Kennedy, who also serves as one of our Deacons. Over the past few years our group has grown and we are averaging over 15 teens each Wednesday night.

Mission Trips

Every few years we endeavor to take our youth and adults to a mission field to expose them to the need to share Christ in foreign lands, minister to the souls on that field, encourage the missionary, and serve that local church as needed during our time there.

Team SK20 will be going from SLBC to St. Kitts to labor with Bro. Dean Richards and the people of Good News Baptist Church in July 2020. We plan to do a Vacation Bible School, distribute gospel tracts, and serve the people of Good News Baptist.

College & Career

College & Career

Brother Carl Hernandez has been a blessing to SLBC as we started a college & career Sunday school class. They meet every Sunday morning at 10am, unless we have a guest speaker.

This acronym stands for God Rewards Our Work and is our visitation outreach program so that we might fulfill the great commission in our community. We begin this outreach every May and conclude in September. During these months we go out every Thursday night on door to door visitation to pass out tracts, invite people to our church, and share the gospel with the lost.

Ladies Meetings

The ladies of SLBC enjoy meeting the first Saturday of each month for fellowship, occasional crafts, food, ladies’ tea, and various other activities throughout the year.

This acronym stands for Sharing Him IN Everything, and is an outreach to Moms in the community to gather on the last Monday night of each month for good fellowship, while taking a break from the kids. Through SHINE, our hope is to bring moms together to cultivate friendships, support systems, mentoring, and above all else, share the love of Christ with the community.

The first Saturday of each month we gather at this assisted living home to minister in song and provide a brief message for the elderly living at this retirement home. We go to be a blessing, but many times we end up receiving a blessing.

Our Senior saints chose this acronym which stands for (Been There, Done That). They enjoy going on occasional outings together and having food and fellowship in various homes.
